Artificial Intelligence holds the potential to dramatically improve patient outcomes and accelerate scientific advancements, amongst others. From employing language models in drug discovery and development to providing decision support in medical diagnosis, we are witnessing a fundamental change in many healthcare and life sciences areas.

Join our Applying AI to Advance Health - Opportunities & Challenges panel, which will cover potential pitfalls and impact of using Large Language Models, Machine/ Deep Learning, and Generative AI in the Healthcare and Life Sciences industries. Our panel includes experts from various fields, featuring Marie Tai from Possible Ventures,  Thomas Hagemeijer from TLGG Consulting, Prog. Dr. Felix Nensa from Essen University Hospital, and Magdalena Paluch from LabTwin, and moderated by Jan Beger from GE HealthCare.

Speakers

Marie Tai (speaker) is a Principal at Possible Ventures, a Munich/Melbourne-based venture capital firm investing in frontier-tech startups globally in the early stages. In the Life Science space, Possible Ventures has invested in Enveda, Molecule, Sensible.Bio, Zafrens, etc. Previously, she held investment roles at Hitachi Ventures, Goldman Sachs, and BMW i Ventures. Marie completed a BSc in Chemistry from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and an MSc in Chemical Engineering from ETH Zurich, as well as two visiting research positions at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Stanford University.

Thomas Hagemeijer (speaker) serves as the Healthcare Lead at TLGG Consulting. He strongly believes that technology will be the driving force behind the transformation of healthcare systems. With over 10 years of experience in management consulting, he previously worked at A.T. Kearney in both Europe and Australia. Thomas holds an MBA from IE Business School, as well as an MEng in Supply Chain and IT from IMT Atlantique.

Prof. Dr. Felix Nensa (speaker) is a Radiologist and Full Professor at Essen University Hospital, leading a group in AI and Smart Hospital Information Platform. He also founded and served as CTO for the IT startup zeec. Felix holds a doctorate of medicine from Ruhr-University Bochum (RUB), with an education in computer science from the University of Hagen and in medicine from the RUB and the Université Louis-Pasteur in Strasbourg.

Magdalena Paluch (speaker) is the Co-Founder and CEO of LabTwin, the world's first AI-powered digital voice assistant for research labs. She is a design-driven entrepreneur with 14+ years of experience building transformative, human-centered products for various industries, from mobility and industrial processes to healthcare. Magdalena holds a BSc in Architecture and an MSc in Industrial Design.
