Digital Health Cocktail Hour brings together founders, VCs, and clinical innovators in the heart of Berlin

This first "It’s all about DATA" session will focus on the importance of data in healthcare and how this will influence the development and value of companies in the space from the perspective of investors, pharmaceutical/ biotech companies, and clinical experts.

Experts from different backgrounds will share practical tips on capturing, storing, protecting, and optimizing data for clinical benefit on a discussion panel (more below).

The second part of the event will be dedicated to a unique networking session, where you can connect with the brightest founders, VCs, and clinical innovators who work with health and biological data on a daily basis. You will have the opportunity to register for our Office Minutes, an incredible opportunity for a private 5-minute one-on-one session with key representatives from our hosts.

Speakers

  • Guy Spigelman (moderator) is EMEA Lead Healthcare and Life Sciences Startups at AWS, where he supports Amazon's technology and people to work alongside investors and startup founders to accelerate their scientific, engineering and commercial development. Passionate about technologies and innovations that impact people's lives, he has worked for over 20 years in fundraising, sales, international market development, P&L management, product, and marketing & PR.
  • Dr. Rabab Nasrallah (panelist) is a healthcare investor at Earlybird Venture Capital and former program manager at INCUBATE, a startup accelerator at the University of Sydney. Rabab completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Babraham Institute in Cambridge, focusing on therapies in the areas of immuno-oncology and autoimmune diseases. She has a strong research background, with a PhD in stem cell and developmental biology from the Australian University of New South Wales and the Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute.
  • Dr. David Higgins (panelist) is a visiting researcher at the Berlin Institute of Health, where he focuses on the interface between manufacturing and research and offers mentoring to startups at the digital health incubator. David is a life-sciences entrepreneur himself with two companies established, one in pharma R&D and the other in the field of behavioral change therapy, and heads the recently established AI competence center for German Entrepreneurship. He is a mathematician and computer scientist and has obtained a PhD in computational neuroscience from the École Normale Supérieure in Paris.
  • Viktor Matyas (panelist) is co-founder and CEO of Aignostics, a spin-out company from Charité and Berlin Institute of Technology supported by the BIH Digital Health Accelerator that focuses on computational pathology for pharmaceutical research, clinical trials, and the development of companion diagnostics. He is a former consultant to McKinsey & Company and a former investor in the technology and healthcare sector. Viktor holds an MBA from INSEAD and an MSc from London Business School.
