Germany has excellent AI research, but few AI startups compared to other countries. Why is that? And what can be improved?
Germany plays a relevant role internationally in AI research. But when it comes to transferring research results into concrete AI applications, we lag behind.
The KI Bundesverband eV conducted a survey among AI startups to better understand the connections between AI research, scientific institutions and AI startups. The questions were whether and in what form AI start-ups emerge from research, what exactly are the drivers for this and to what extent AI start-ups conduct research themselves.
At this event, the results of the study will be presented to the public for the first time. The survey is accompanied by recommendations for action developed by the KI Bundesverband to strengthen the situation of AI entrepreneurship in Germany.
After the presentation of the study, the results will be discussed in a panel. Among others, Dr. Tina Klüwer (Director AI, KIEZ) together with Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ina Schieferdecker (Federal Ministry of Education and Research) (tbc.) and Dr. Sabine Hepperle (Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection) will speak about the study. In addition, the participants of the event will have the opportunity to ask questions directly to the panellists.
Afterwards there is the opportunity for networking.
